Host: Jessica Hartley
Guest: Amanda Gish
Topic: Realistic Wedding Vows
Santa Clarita Relationship coach Jessica Hartley was live on-air this week on her weekly radio show to talk about wedding vows, and how to make them more consciously.
With wedding season right around the corner, Jessica welcomed guest Amanda Gish on her show to discuss how old wedding vows may not lead to the thriving relationship that couples want down the road.
Wedding vows can be an intention that you are setting in the beginning of your marriage for how you want it to be, said Amanda.
“A lot of times our wedding vows right now are a little bit embedded in old, traditional, patterns of codependency,” said Jessica. “One vow that definitely use some updating is the one that suggests that I vow to make you happy.”
A relationship is one of the most sacred vessels for our own personal growth, said Jessica. A lot of that personal growth is stopping trying to make the world outside of you happy and stop being responsible for your partner’s happiness.
Jessica and Amanda both agree that each person in a relationship has to take responsibility for their own domain.
